As a digital agency full of passionate cricket fans, we were thrilled when Cricinfo and Microsoft approached us to design and develop a feature-rich app for the then-unreleased Windows 8 platform.
With Windows 8, Microsoft introduced the Metro design language, emphasising an authentically digital experience, content over chrome, and a celebration of typography. These principles became the foundation of our design approach, allowing us to push beyond the conventions of typical sports apps at the time.
By leveraging strong typography, structured grids, bold colours, and large-format photography, we crafted a sleek, digital-first app that still felt unmistakably cricket.
The result was a resounding success. Downloads exceeded expectations, and the project established us on Microsoft’s radar as an agency that understood how to design for Windows 8.
A very fluid and beautiful app with well presented and useful information. Must have for any cricket fan!
